Inside, sweeping curved partition walls and a sculptural central staircase are finished in gradient metallic tones of bronze, gold, and silver, echoing the hierarchy of Olympic medals. Integrated torch-shaped columns, Olympic ring colour accents, and layered display zones create an immersive retail journey centred on sporting achievement. 021 Flying Shadow Qiaodan Concept Store · 400 m² · 2024 ConceptTitled Passion Shadow, the design translates the endurance, speed, and rhythm of marathon running into an architectural language. The circulation concept draws a parallel with human blood circulation, connecting the function of athletic apparel with the oxygen flow that fuels physical performance. SpaceA gradual colour gradient from pure white to deep scarlet runs through the partitions and display fixtures. The circulation path follows the stages of a marathon, guiding customers through the collection and culminating in a fitting room zone reimagined as an interactive brand experience. 016 Evolve Concept Mall Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 2016 ConceptA contemporary mixed-use shopping destination in Ara Damansara, bringing together four distinct design scopes within a single development. The project establishes a cohesive visual language across public spaces, furniture installations, lighting, and wayfinding systems. SpaceOpen multi-storey atriums and full-height glass façades maximise natural light throughout the development. Custom LED chandeliers were designed for the male and female restrooms, with contrasting angular and curved forms. Two bespoke bench series include wall-mounted solid timber seats and floating lounges with transparent bases. A comprehensive signage system extends across the site, from external landmark totems and internal directional signs to parking navigation markers. 011 KFC Special Store Wulingyuan, China · 215 m² · 2019 ConceptThe design balances KFC's global brand standards with local cultural storytelling for the Wulingyuan scenic area, embedding regional references within the established restaurant format. SpaceThe main feature wall combines solid timber panels, metallic detailing, and layered integrated lighting to showcase local mountain landscape imagery. Modular furniture arrangements accommodate individual visitors, small groups, and larger tour parties while working within the brand's standardised kitchen and service-counter configuration. 012 East Dawning Hangzhou, China · 135 m² · 2019 ConceptRooted in the gentle elegance and tranquil character of traditional Jiangnan architecture, the design reinterprets its architectural language for a compact contemporary fast-casual dining format. SpaceCurved roof beams, lattice screens, and natural timber establish the primary material palette. Each partition and fixture is carefully scaled to maximise usable floor area within the compact 135-square-metre footprint, while large windows connect the dining area with views of the surrounding garden. 013 Golden Gai Restaurant & Bar Las Vegas, USA · 960 m² · 2018 ConceptModern Japanese izakaya culture is reinterpreted within a Las Vegas casino, dividing a single building volume into four distinct atmospheric zones to create a layered F&B destination. SpaceThe single envelope accommodates four distinct experiences: an open robatayaki grill bar, a quiet sake lounge, a Michelin-starred yakiniku dining room, and a hidden speakeasy bar. Sculptural wire-mesh installations, layered timber-slat ceilings, and gradient red curved wall panels establish individual identities while maintaining a cohesive overall environment. 014 Inspire Teahouse Shanghai, China · 365 m² · 2018 ConceptThe design reinterprets the traditional Chinese tea gathering by balancing quiet serenity with flexible social interaction, creating a contemporary setting for both intimate and communal experiences. SpaceA tactile material palette combines metal mesh, grey handmade brick, walnut timber, black marble, and textured woven fabrics. Reclaimed roof tiles and integrated greenery introduce a sense of natural calm. Circular moon-gate partitions divide the space into intimate, flexible sections that accommodate both private tea sessions and larger gatherings. 015 Fuego, Troika Sky Dining Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 2014 ConceptLocated on the 23A floor of a Kuala Lumpur high-rise, the design emphasises raw materiality and structural honesty, treating the Petronas Twin Towers skyline as an integral element of the interior composition. SpaceA suspended rebar grid forms the sculptural ceiling canopy, engineered with reinforced anchoring and weather-resistant detailing to withstand tropical wind conditions. The central bar combines exposed industrial steel-pipe framing with timber and concrete surfaces, retaining the raw character of the materials while concealing necessary structural reinforcement. Warm natural timber finishes contrast with polished reflective surfaces, while integrated planting and varied meeting spaces support both focused individual work and collaborative interaction. 004 Fiskars Office Shanghai, China · 800 m² · 2022 ConceptThree hundred and seventy years of Scandinavian craft and design heritage are translated into a contemporary Shanghai workplace while retaining the brand's minimalist and sustainable design philosophy. SpaceModular workstations and adaptable meeting areas organise the open-plan workplace, finished with natural materials and muted neutral tones. Fiskars' signature orange is used selectively as an accent. Dedicated display areas present the company's product portfolio and history, bringing its heritage and craftsmanship into the workplace. 027 Jinkun Office Shanghai, China · 300 m² · 2022 ConceptAs the headquarters of a construction company, the office serves as a tangible demonstration of the company's construction expertise and attention to material detail, balancing cost efficiency with quality. SpaceThe compact 300-square-metre, two-storey layout follows a streamlined circulation strategy. A material library sits beside the main reception for client presentations, while a single large meeting room is positioned to minimise disruption to the daily workflow. Contrasting timber and white surfaces at the reception highlight the precision of the joinery and construction detailing. 028 Nexans Office Shanghai, China · 240 m² · 2024 ConceptExtension reflects Nexans' role in transmitting energy across the globe, translating the idea of extending connection into the workplace. The spatial framework is structured around the brand's E3 model of Environment, Engagement, and Economy. SpaceLow-carbon materials and integrated vertical planting establish the environmental focus. Curated corporate display zones communicate the company's heritage and milestones, while open collaboration hubs and informal breakout areas occupy the central circulation zones. Forest green and warm natural timber create a consistent visual language throughout. 017 Monterez Bungalow Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 435 m² · 2017 ConceptModern minimalist living is integrated into a tropical setting, prioritising continuous visual connections between the interior and surrounding landscape. SpaceAn open-plan layout creates seamless transitions between functional zones, with carefully positioned windows controlling natural daylight and framing the landscape. Solid timber and natural stone introduce warmth and tactile contrast against clean exterior lines. Landscape elements are integrated into the composition to soften the boundary between the building and its surroundings. 018 V Townhouse Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 3,540 m² · 2017 ConceptA development of twelve townhouses that retains the character of a neighbourhood while balancing shared community space with private residential living. SpaceAll twelve units connect through a shared second-floor platform designed for resident social activities. Each townhouse includes dedicated ground-floor parking and a private cantilevered rooftop pool. A consistent façade language unifies the development, while subtle variations in volume give each unit its own identity. 023 Moujiacun Old Villa Changzhou, China · 150 m² · 2023 ConceptOrganic activation: retain what works and adapt what does not. The project gives a historic villa new purpose while preserving its existing architectural character. SpaceThe 150-square-metre villa retains its original timber beam structure and grey brick walls. The main living hall is converted into a shared office for local college students, while the remaining rooms become cultural exhibition and reception spaces. Existing wooden furniture is restored and reused, maintaining the traditional architectural language throughout the renovation. 024 Fraser's Hill Villa Fraser's Hill, Malaysia · 120 m² · 2023 ConceptA tropical minimalist retreat designed to harmonise with its hill-station surroundings, responding to the cool, humid climate while maintaining a strong connection with nature. SpaceThe single-level layout centres on an open living, dining, and kitchen area that opens onto a covered outdoor deck through sliding glass doors. Light-toned teak is used for the flooring and outdoor deck for its weather resistance, while whitewashed walls help reflect sunlight and maintain a cooler interior. Woven rattan furniture adds texture without creating visual heaviness. The covered deck extends the living space outdoors, with seating oriented towards the surrounding hills and cool hillside breezes. 026 M Oscar Residence Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 85 m² · 2025 ConceptTropical modern living with the warmth and familiarity of a traditional Malaysian home. SpaceDark tones create depth throughout the interior, balanced by natural timber and rattan elements that introduce warmth and texture. Arched openings soften the geometry of the spaces, while the kitchen, dining, and living areas are brought together around a central island to create a more connected setting for everyday family life. 001 Haier Smart Home Experience Centre Shanghai, China · 3,500 m² · 2019 ConceptHaier's interconnected IoT smart-home ecosystem forms the central narrative of the experience centre, with each display zone connected back to the idea of one integrated system. SpaceThe 3,500-square-metre, two-storey venue is organised around a sculptural curved staircase that acts as a light tower, visible from the street and connecting both floors. Haier's 7+N product range is presented through lifelike residential scenarios, demonstrating how different smart-home products work together within everyday domestic environments. 032 Haier Smart Home Experience Centre Beijing, China · 1,884 m² · 2020 ConceptThe space translates Haier's O2O2O strategy, online to offline and back online, into a physical retail environment, transforming a row of neglected shopfronts into a unified smart-home experience centre. SpaceTen adjacent shop lots are consolidated behind a single monolithic façade finished in white reconstructed stone, creating a strong contrast with the aged residential blocks above. The interior incorporates dedicated live-streaming rooms, tiered seating, and photo opportunities, supporting both physical retail experiences and digital content creation. 033 Haier Smart Home Experience Centre Qingdao, China · 5,404 m² ConceptLocated within Haier's global headquarters, the flagship Cosmoplat venue presents the company's Smart Living X.0 generation of integrated IoT technology through an immersive visitor journey. SpaceSpanning 5,404 square metres, the centre is approximately three times the size of the Beijing venue and presents the complete smart-product ecosystem through a sequence of immersive environments. Climate simulation zones and full-scale residential mock-ups create interactive scenarios for corporate clients and industry visitors. 002 Vasen Experience Centre Linhai, China · 2,138 m² · 2020 ConceptVasen's products range from large municipal infrastructure to the fine water and electrical lines within a home. Although essential to the built environment, these systems are usually hidden from view. The design makes the invisible visible. SpaceThe 2,138-square-metre experience centre unfolds through four sequential zones. The introduction leads into two full-scale residential mock-ups, one incorporating transparent floors, walls, and ceilings to reveal the internal pipework. A fragmented spline-shaped route connects the product display areas, while the upper-floor R&D zone uses functional Vasen piping as the staircase balustrade. 010 Plot 02-01, 80m Office Towers Lingang, Shanghai, China · 45,149 m² · 2021–23 Design IntentInspired by water carving, the twin towers frame the Financial Innovation Valley while responding to the relationship between Dishui Lake, the Ring Park, and the surrounding public realm. The sculpted forms maximise views, strengthen landscape connections, and establish a distinctive identity within the masterplan. Project DeliveryThe project included four office towers, 4,731 square metres of common areas, and basement commercial spaces. Delivering the design required close coordination between the international design team, façade consultant, local design institute (LDI), and material suppliers to ensure the design intent was accurately realised during local implementation. 006 Plot 18-01 Hotel Tower Lingang, Shanghai, China · 31,343 m² · 2020–23 Design IntentTogether with Plot 20-01, the project forms the masterplan gateway through the concept of Pas de Deux, where two complementary buildings express movement and balance. Inspired by Rudolf Laban's studies of movement, the architecture transforms choreography into sculptural massing and dynamic façades overlooking Dishui Lake. Project DeliveryThe project required balancing Studio Libeskind's architectural vision with Hilton's operational standards and Lingang's planning requirements. Particular attention was given to the inclined façade geometry, massing transitions, and coordination between multiple specialist consultants throughout the delivery process. 007 Plot 20-01 Hotel Service Apartment Lingang, Shanghai, China · 31,247 m² · 2020–23 Design IntentDeveloped alongside Plot 18-01, the building completes the Pas de Deux gateway composition. While maintaining its own architectural identity, it forms a balanced counterpart that strengthens the overall masterplan. Project DeliveryThe building maximises lake views while accommodating a complex programme that includes a 1,500-square-metre ballroom within a constrained site. The project demanded continuous coordination to preserve the relationship between both buildings while resolving technical and planning requirements. 008 Plot 01-01, 100m Office Tower Lingang, Shanghai, China · 31,000 m² · 2021–23 Design IntentThe concept, Orbits, interprets planetary motion through flowing geometry and layered façades. A ribbon-like double façade with dichroic glass creates a changing appearance as light and viewing angles shift throughout the day. Project DeliveryThe programme includes retail, office spaces, a lecture hall, canteen, and roof garden. A major challenge was integrating the façade ventilation system while satisfying fire-safety regulations and three-star green-building requirements without compromising the architectural concept. 009 Plot 01-01, 45m Office Buildings Lingang, Shanghai, China · 24,034 m² · 2021–23 Design IntentInspired by traditional Chinese culture, the project interprets the symbolism of clouds and the changing phases of the moon into a contemporary office development. Three buildings share a unified architectural language while developing distinct identities through variations in height and façade composition. Project DeliveryThe development strengthens connections between the surrounding park and urban fabric through a central public plaza and integrated landscape. Careful coordination was required to maintain consistency across all three buildings while adapting the design to different site conditions. 029 West Lane Common Area Signage Shanghai, China · Wayfinding system · 2023 ConceptIf the architecture is legible, signage only has to confirm it. SpaceA signage and wayfinding system for a residential common area, kept inside the same practice as the spatial work. edu.05 The Roo Community Centre Bromley-by-Bow, London, UK · 3,170 m² · 2018 ConceptSocial infrastructure for Deliveroo riders at a time when little purpose-built space existed for this emerging urban workforce. SpaceA continuous perimeter ramp and open stair weave cyclist and pedestrian routes through the building. The glulam structural frame takes its geometry from bicycle construction, translating the movement and mechanics of cycling into the architecture. edu.04 Textile Workshop & Co-working Space Athens, Greece · 1,700 m² · 2017 ConceptAmid Athens' economic challenges, Keramikou faced widespread vacancy and declining activity, while neighbouring Metaxourgeio retained a strong connection to the city's textile heritage. The project reactivates the area by reconnecting textile culture with everyday community life. Based on the idea of symbiosis, the workshop combines textile production, learning, and co-working to support creative skills, entrepreneurship, and local economic activity. SpaceDeveloped in collaboration with Makerversity, the project combines textile-making workshops with co-working and learning spaces. Locally sourced threads form the beginning of a short supply chain, with fabrics produced in the workshop feeding into nearby printing, garment-making, and retail businesses. Internally, functional layers are interconnected through folded metal-sheet structures arranged in a crisscross formation. A prefabricated modular structural system allows faster construction, reduces on-site disruption, and provides flexibility for future adaptation. The project brings together textile production, community learning, local enterprise, and adaptable construction as a strategy for neighbourhood regeneration. edu.03 U-Build Garden Room London, UK · 20 m² · 2016 ConceptA two-week full-scale build with Studio Bark, prototyping their low-impact modular construction system through hands-on fabrication. SpaceLed the skin team's demountable timber-cladding package, taking it from design development and jig-making through to on-site assembly. Working at full scale provided direct experience of fabrication, tolerances, material behaviour, and construction. edu.02 Tourist Facilities Centre & Lodge Sungai Lembing, Kuantan, Malaysia · 1,980 m² · 2013 ConceptA former tin-mining town in decline, where the brief was an economic problem rather than a building. SpaceThe development combines campsites, dormitories, guided-tour facilities, and exhibition spaces designed to extend visitor stays and help channel ecotourism income back into the town. edu.01 Hiker's Base Camp National Park, Pahang, Malaysia · 2010 ConceptThe life cycle and anatomy of a dragonfly translated into a spatial and structural concept. SpaceA tensile fabric membrane roof is supported by timber columns of varying heights, framing views towards the river. Public and private zones are organised to create both outward-facing communal spaces and more secluded areas for overnight accommodation.
